Enter a web address
Type or paste the site you want to visit, like wikipedia.org, into the box at the top. You can also type a search phrase.
Click Browse Anonymously
Our server fetches the page for you, so the website sees our IP address instead of yours.
Keep browsing
Every link you click stays inside the proxy. Use the bar at the top of each page to jump to another site.
Why use a free web proxy?
A web proxy is the quickest way to reach a blocked page or browse without revealing who you are.
Hide your IP address
Websites see the proxy server's address, not yours, which keeps your location and identity private.
Unblock websites
Reach news, reference and video sites that are filtered on school, office or public Wi-Fi networks.
Nothing to install
It runs in your browser. No apps, extensions or settings to change – handy on shared or locked-down computers.
Phone, tablet or PC
Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Chromebook.
Encrypted connection
The connection between you and ProxyMeFree uses HTTPS, so others on your network can't read what you browse.
Free, no limits
No account, no trial and no bandwidth cap. ProxyMeFree is supported by ads.
What is a web proxy and how does it work?
A web proxy is a website that loads other websites for you. When you enter an address in ProxyMeFree, our server requests the page, rewrites its links so they keep going through the proxy, and sends it back to your browser. The site you visit only sees the proxy's IP address, and your network only sees that you are connected to ProxyMeFree.
When a web proxy is the right tool
- Opening a news article, wiki page or forum that is blocked on your network.
- Checking a website without revealing your IP address or location.
- Watching YouTube videos when the site is filtered – ProxyMeFree shows a lightweight YouTube page with the video player.
- Using a shared or work computer where you can't install a VPN.
Good to know
Some websites will not load through any web proxy: apps that rely completely on JavaScript (Instagram, TikTok, Spotify) and sites that block proxy servers (for example Reddit, Amazon or Netflix). For those – and whenever you need to protect all of your device's traffic – a VPN is the better choice. Avoid entering passwords or payment details on sites opened through any free proxy.
Frequently asked questions
Is ProxyMeFree really free?
Yes. There is no account, trial or paid plan. The service is paid for by the ads you see on our own pages.
Is using a web proxy legal?
Using a proxy is legal in most countries. What matters is what you do with it – follow local laws and the rules of your school or workplace. Read our terms.
Why doesn't a website load through the proxy?
Some sites block proxy servers and others only work with JavaScript. Try turning off Remove Scripts under Options, or see troubleshooting tips.
Can I watch YouTube through ProxyMeFree?
Yes. Open youtube.com through the proxy to search, browse channels and play videos in YouTube's embedded player.
Is a web proxy the same as a VPN?
No. A proxy only covers pages you open on this site, while a VPN encrypts all traffic from your device. Compare them in Proxy vs VPN.
